1. What Keeps You Alive (2018)
What is it about?
What Keeps You Alive is a Canadian horror movie revolving around a couple Jackie and Jules.
To celebrate their first anniversary, they go to a secluded cabin belonging to Jackie’s family. But soon, Jules notices a change in Jackie’s behaviour and she must find a way out of this cabin before it is too late.
Why should you watch it?
This more movie is more than a survival-slasher. It tells us how a killer thinks and the rational they put behind their horrible actions.
It also makes us ponder on whether we even know our close ones.
If you like movies where characters get stuck in a secluded place, especially in forests. You may like this one.

2. Animales Humaoes (2020)
What is it about?
Animales Humaoes (Human Animals) is a story of about a couple and their daughter. The daughter always finds their neighbours’ dog a bit threatening. One day when the dog attacks her, there begins a fight between the family and their neighbours.
Why should you watch it?
One of the best things about this movie is the tensed vibes.
From the beginning, the atmosphere feels dark and disturbing.
Moreover, if you have a fear of dogs, this movie will be unsettling to watch. Overall, it’s a home invasion slasher with a bittersweet end.

3. The Hunt (2020)
What is it about?
The premise of The Hunt is:
A group of ordinary citizens get kidnapped and are taken to a private estate. Then, they are hunted one by one by a group of elites. As always there are a few survivors who fight for their lives.
Why should you watch it?
The Hunt is a very controversial film, up to that extent that it got cancelled for a time being.
For me, The Hunt was a very thought-provoking horror movie. There are multiple twists which reveal why people do what they do.
The thing is, this movie doesn’t let the audience be in grey. Both sides, the elites and ordinary citizens, get to explain their view points.

4. The Invisible Man (2020)
What is it about?
Cecilia is in a toxic relationship.
One night, she finally plans to escape from her husband. But eventually her husband finds a way to becoming invisible.
He starts making her life worse, until she decides to expose him and take control of the situation.
Why should you watch it?
Mind it, The Invisible Man is a slow burn movie. I went into it thinking it will be an action-packed movie. But still, it did not disappoint me.
The twists, the mystery and the suspense keep us captivated for the entirety.
Also, it will give you a bit of time to cuddle 😉

5. Get Out (2017)
What is it about?
Get Out is an Oscar recipient movie about Chris who is visiting her girlfriend’s parents.
While at first everything seems fine and her parents are welcoming. He soon starts to feel uncomfortable there. Maybe it’s the people’s looks, maybe what people say to him.
He needs to solve the puzzle about this place before it’s too late.
Why should you watch it?
Get Out is an atmospheric, psychological, slow burn horror. The movie picks up in the second half and ends with an action-packed climax.
If you are in a mood for something slow paced but something extremely rewarding, then Get Out is one you should select.

6. Alone (2020)
What is it about?
Alone is a movie about Jessica who is moving towns. She is suffering from personal setbacks and decides to take a road trip to the other town.
While the scenery looks spectacular, one thing she is frightened about is a black car. She senses she is getting stalked.
Why should you watch it?
Alone is a highly underrated movie which not people know about.
But let me tell you, it is so good. It is a perfect mixture of suspense, survival, thriller and little bit of slasher.
If you liked What Keeps You Alive and 10 Cloverfield Lane, you would enjoy this one.
